Baby Boomers - 3 Reasons to Stretch Each Day

Healthy Living for Baby Boomers should include a few stretches each day to keep you limber and feeling younger.

We all know our bodies change as we age. Some changes are obvious and can’t be helped, while others are more subtle and we can do something about it.  Because when you feel younger, you look younger.

Stretching Reduces Tension

As we age, muscles shrink and lose elasticity.  A few stretches each day will keep the muscles elastic and then it’s much less likely that they will contract causing tension muscle aches and pains.

Stretching Can Improve Your Power

Moving more will also give you a lot more power. Stretching will help enhance your awareness and alertness enabling you to want to move more.  When you move more, you are more likely to be in better shape and less depressed.

Stretching Can Help Reduce Cholesterol

Research also shows that doing prolonged stretching exercises, like yoga, will help decrease the cholesterol in the body. When done while eating a healthy diet, this could prevent and even reverse hardening of the arteries, allowing you to prevent heart disease.

Incorporate stretching in your everyday lifestyle. You can’t ignore the advantages and does not require much. Incorporate it into your usual activities by bending and flexing as you move during the day as part of a simple program for healthy living.
