The Atkins diet was designed by Dr. Robert Atkins as a low-carb nutritional approach. It came to the public’s attention back in the early 70s and it has been promoted ever since as one of the best weight loss options. Dr. Atkins’ scientific studies and metabolic theories created the fundamentals for the New Diet Revolution. The Atkins diet is a restrictive program from this point of view because it eliminates carbohydrates that have an impact on the blood sugar level. It is of paramount importance to use whole unprocessed foods to support the program.
The Atkins diet is strict even with black rice and vegetables that are recommended as low glycemic carbohydrates in other diets. The Atkins diet is supported by Atkins Nutritionals, a company that markets the foods allowed in the program. Four phases are required for this approach: induction, ongoing weight loss, pre-maintenance and lifetime maintenance. more…

There are certain things we just cannot stop eating once we’ve begun. A bag of chips, bread, a favorite chocolate or candy, whatever it is that sets us off makes us keep eating until we feel over-full or finish the bag. These are what we call trigger foods, and they can be a serious stumbling block to trying to lose weight. It isn’t simply a case of cheating either; these sorts of foods can affect even the most determined individual because they’re as much an emotional crutch as they are a physical indulgence.
Of course, the Habit Changer philosophy isn’t about punishment or monk-like avoidance; it is about careful moderation. We are allowed to enjoy ourselves, and indeed that’s the purpose behind building all of these good habits. more…

You can get some health coaching any time that you are ready for it, and I’m pretty certain your coach will suggest you try a vegetable diet. There are simply so many health benefits attached to, it would be impossible not for them to. And if you are in doubt about that, you may want to contact a professional dietician.
Many heart disease patients are put on a vegetable diet to help them recover, or to at least stabilize them. That got me thinking in a way that I had not dared to before. As a consequence, I studied more about vegetable diets and all that they entail. You know what I came up with? it is that fact that I need it too, and so do you. more…

I wish to start out by stating that this information is simply my opinion based on the information I have read from expert authors in addition to more than a decade of eating and living the way I have daily. Also, with my blood work done twice each year that indicates zero deficiencies, I think that this information is very valuable and of course valid. It could be that it just works for me, my genetic makeup and my body type, I can’t say for sure. However, just like smoking cigarettes will affect each of us with varying degrees of health negatives, eating green smoothies, I feel, will probably affect each one of us with varying degrees of health positives. Try it and see, after you speak with your natural, or other, health practitioner first of course.
The body is equipped to heal itself correct? Why is it that so many people are becoming and staying sick? Maybe that is incorrect and the human body really isn’t equipped for natural healing? No! The trouble is that men and women a) don’t give it with the suitable amount of tools, usually in terms of food intake, it requires to heal itself and b) we attack it with things that hinder the function of the limited number of resources that we do supply it. more…
