Home Gym Exercise Equipment Advice – What Fitness Gear Should You Buy?

The needs and wants of home gym exercise equipment can differ from person to person. When constructing a home gym, there are factors that determine the type of equipment that can be moved in to your home. Cost, size and your fitness goals are the biggest factors when determining what youíll be able to move in your home.

Youíll want to make sure you have home gym exercise equipment that will benefit you for a full body workout. Itís important to make sure your working the muscles in your legs, rear, back, abs, arms, shoulders, and chest. Total full body gyms usually range from $500 to $5,000 depending on how many features are offered.

Bowflex is a popular piece of equipment that offers a full body workout and you can buy one of their full gyms starting around $700 new. Gold’s Gym also has a variety of cost effective gym equipment available for a home gym which include full gyms, ellipticals, treadmills, dumbbells and many more.

When choosing equipment to do cardio at home, you’ll need to look towards your goals and motivation. If you buy a treadmill or elliptical that has a few basics settings you may quickly find yourself bored with your routine. However, the more features the equipment has the more money you will need to spend. An elliptical with advanced features allow you to set a program to target specific muscle groups, climb hills, lose weight, test endurance, and there are more features depending on the equipment.

Treadmills usually give you fewer settings than an elliptical, but you’ll often find hills, weight loss and endurance on this equipment as well. These settings can give your body a challenge instead of the same basic footsteps.

A punching bag is great for a home gym because you’re able to get a fat burning workout while also toning your muscles. Plus, it can be fun to take out stress on a punching bag while getting your workout in. For the most part a punching bag does not take up much room, but considering how much your body moves while hitting and kicking a punching bag, you still need a decent amount of space.

Dumbbells are an essential part of home gym equipment because you can work every muscle in the body with a pair of dumbbells. It’s important that you have a variety of different wei

ghts available because you’ll notice your body can lift more with certain muscle groups than with others. A medicine ball although not essential can be beneficial as well for many abdominal workouts. Dumbbells and medicine balls are a more affordable option than a full home gym and they take up very little space.

A fitness stability ball is a way to perform core muscle group exercises. The stability ball forces the body to balance while performing exercises which increases the intensity of the exercise. These balls range in sizes, but they are affordable and take up little space.

There is a lot of home gym exercise equipment available, so it’s important to buy what you know you will use. If you have equipment you enjoy and it meets your goals then the investment will save you money you would have spent on a gym membership over the next couple years.
